Scott Mitchell
Scott Mitchell is the longtime partner of Harvey Mackay and CEO of the MackayMitchell Envelope Company, which manufactures 25 million envelopes per day for the direct mail and photo industry in 3 plants in Minnesota, Iowa and Oregon. Through investment in process color technology, prepress capabilities and consultative selling, Mitchell has seen the company triple its revenue and be a leading provider in the direct mail arena. A sole source vendor to some of the largest and most creative mailers in the country, MackayMitchell Envelope has chosen to focus on a nimble, highly creative, “customer oriented” approach to the market place.
Prior to joining MackayMitchell in 1993, Scott was a divisional president for the Data Base division of Moore Corporation, preceded by a sales career with IBM. Scott got his start as an English teacher in Vermont and received a B.A. (Cum Laude) from Dartmouth College in 1971 He holds an honorary Doctorate of Letters from Iowa Wesleyan.
Scott, former chairman of the Envelope Manufactures Association currently serves on the Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Envelope Manufacturers Foundation. Scott and his wife Sheila have eight children between them and reside in Minneapolis.
