| Digital Guidelines
-
Always provide current hard copy. This assists everyone prior to starting and while processing the order. When using telecommunications a faxed hard copy is sufficient.
- Telecommunicated file sizes should be kept under 5 mb in size. This allows for reasonable transmission times. Files may be compressed using a self-extracting archive.
- Be sure to enclose all support files with your final document. Also make sure that those support files are editable.
- If needed, MackayMitchell Envelope will provide you with digital envelope outlines (generally eps files) to assist you in the design process.
- On multi-colored orders, we provide a color digital proof in addition to any contract proof(s). Please try to assign the actual colors that will be used when printed. This assures consistency and more accurate color digital proofs.
- When using any scanned image (grayscale or 4-color) please be aware of the quality of the digital file(s) youíre sending. Low resolution or poor scans print poorly. Images should be approximately 300 dpi and used within 15% of their size. If youíre not sure, send the original continuous tone image so that we may have it scanned at the proper resolution and size.
- Avoid nesting images and graphics. This can lead to imaging problems. Avoid creating small masks with large items inside the mask (especially when rotating). It works best to crop the masked item to a size slightly larger than the mask.
